Money

Money.  What is it? Why is it important?  These may sound like silly questions with obvious answers, bit I had a feeling my guides might have something interesting to say on the topic.  I suspect we just scratched the surface.

Money is a form of energy.  Not the best form, not the most potent form, but a popular form indeed.  (smile)

For many, money is tangible work or success (in their minds), crystallized into a concentrated form.  It is an avenue to what they consider to be a better life.  More accurately, a "better lifestyle."  Because style is everything these days, isn't it.  Or so you'd think from observing the media.  What could be more important than being "on-trend," and sporting the right color tan on the right sized and shaped body?

So, what is money?  Often, it s a distraction.  Too many choices regarding what to do with it, how to invest and spend it and of course, how to get more.  Too little money can be just as distracting, if not more so.  There is plenty to worry about when there isn't plenty in your wallet.

The benefit, though, is the you are offered the opportunity to discover that an overfull closet and the right shoe for every outfit is not merely unnecessary, but downright ridiculous, if not immoral when others are going without the shoes they really need.

More is not better.  More is just...more.  And it is a symptom of a pervasive sickness.  It can clog your system just like a bad diet can.  You get bogged down, everything slows, and you can even strangle on it.  Watch what you worship.  It's a great predictor of where you are headed, and we don't mean Heaven or Hell.

So far, we have been talking about the downside of money.  But there is more to consider.

Money, in quantity, is a form of potential.  Potential energy, if you like.  Potent potential energy, just for the fun of saying it.  The one who holds the money has the potential to do great good with it.   And that is one of the true measures of a man or woman:  What (good) use do they make of all that dough? It truly is a form of "bread" that can feed the world, and not only its stomach. It can feed hungry minds and starving spirits.

There isn't one best way to use it.  There are as many good and worthy ways to use money, as there are people to spend it.  What better investment than the uplifting of your fellow man, the offering of hope and a helping hand, and the preservation of the world?

So, to our minds, for most of you, we wish you enough but not too much, unless you are up to the task of wise use and distribution of your riches, rather than subject to distraction therefrom.  Learn to distinguish between your wants and your needs.  Learn, we hope, that your long term, genuine happiness does not come from the acquisition of new toys or pretty knickknacks.   It's time people started seeing a modest lifestyle as a desirable one, and excess of all kinds as unhealthy, and not just for the body alone.

Perhaps your focus should be instead, on doing as much as you can with the resources you have instead of constantly wishing and grasping for more.  As your frugal forebears would say, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."  There was a lot of wisdom there, and it's an art unto itself.

We aren't saying to pinch every penny until it screams,  merely to respect money and your other resources, and treat them accordingly.

We love and bless you...in abundance.  (smile)  Just say "thank you" to receive lavishly.

Namaste.

  1. Hi Orea:
Ya know what? While it's important to me, money isn't the MOST important driving force in my life. I have plenty of money. And it comes VERY easy to me, but in the end I'd rather be happy and make a LITTLE LESS money then make it hand over fist and be miserable.

I heard a FANTASTIC line on Saturday night in the movie:
    Peaceful Warrior.
    Went something like this:
Money doesn't make the world go round, fear does. Like it, because when you REALLY think about it, this does seem to be the case. Speaking of Peaceful Warrior, if you haven't seen the movie, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Be Happy! Be Well! Be Positive!
    Blessings to you.

  2. Yes, great attitude, Chris. And it's interesting that on my list of possible future topics are "Is Struggle Necessary?" and something about the role of fear in our lives.

I've heard of the movie but haven't seen it yet. That'll have to go on another list!

Thanks for your comments, they are very much appreciated.

    Blessings,
    Orea
